FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sustainable jewellery exhibition at Industra
Brno jewellery artist, Queen’s Wood Studio, to have an exhibition at Industra
Fresh from Munich Jewellery Week, Queen’s Wood Studio will be taking over the Industra Design Shop for the month of April with her show, New Mythology. A sustainable jewellery exhibition celebrating the magical and the surreal, the show will feature photography, found objects and recycled silver jewellery. There will also be an event to ‘meet the artist’ during Brno Art Week, Friday 26th April 5-7pm.
The show explores our place in the world through the tale of the swan maiden, a mythical figure who can assume the form of a woman or swan, and live between the worlds of humans and nature. Are we also shapeshifters – acceptable workers in the city during the week and off in nature at the weekend? Can we be rewilded like the silver in this exhibition, melted down from electronics, medical equipment and old jewellery, and allowed to flow its own way? Is there magic in the tension of being both wild and tame, spiritual and practical; and in the new need to mine treasure from our waste?
We look forward to seeing you at Industra 3rd-28th April and for the Brno Art Week event on the 26th! You can find out more on her website queenswoodstudio.com
About Queen’s Wood Studio
