Stepping ring

Description

Edges feathered slightly in sedge and grasses, pools step out across the fen, the colour of the sky’s bright silver distance. At dusk, ice ruffles their surface, island pools within pools, as the light fades to blue, pink and gold.

Textured and curved petals of silver and bronze, clustered into a sculptural ring.

Made from recycled sterling silver or golden bronze with a sterling silver band.

After casting the focal piece in nearby Melton Mowbray, the ring is made by me in my Suffolk studio, using natural alternatives to traditional jewellery-making chemicals.
